Hi,

If you are reading this entry it is almost for sure you are trying to install oracle express on a 64 bits machine. There is a lot of fuse at this time because express version of oracle product isn’t released for 64 bits windows os products.

Fear not.

Although I am not giving you the answer and assuming the risk of in future my source not to be online, I would like to redirect you as I couldn’t be more intuitive in my explanation than Konayachi-nyan:

Link To: http://www.hanmiaojuan.com/2013/03/install-oracle-xe-11g-for-windows7-64bits.html

Our many thanks for such a well documented process!

[EDIT]

There is a simpler way to do something (I hope):

http://mazinabdulah.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/install-oracle-xe-11g-on-windows-7-64bit-having-a-error/

Don’t forget to rename reg file before clicking next!

Cheers

Hi guys.

I don’t know how many of you work on entity framework and have to deal with sql server 2005 and sql server 2008.

For the ones of you that work over 2005 there is no troubles.. at least not the one that I have met a few times. However if you work over 2008 to deploy to sql 2005… well.. if you forget it then you can have a several loss of time!

“Why?” may you ask…. well…. when you update your edmx store from database (2008) your edmx retrieves info from schema; between this info it also saves the “ProviderManifestToken”. It will be saved as 2008. This implies that your data will be interpreted for sql2008.

When you deploy your solution over sql2005 you will run in trouble as sql2008 has datetime2 and sql2005 don’t. You will be looking around until yu find that yu must edit your edmx xml code and change “ProviderManifestToken” for 2005.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<edmx:Edmx Version="2.0" xmlns:edmx="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2008/10/edmx">
  <!-- EF Runtime content -->
  <edmx:Runtime>
    <!-- SSDL content -->
    <edmx:StorageModels>
    <Schema Namespace="TrackControlModel.Store" Alias="Self" Provider="System.Data.SqlClient" <strong>ProviderManifestToken="2005"</strong> xmlns:store="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/12/edm/EntityStoreSchemaGenerator" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2009/02/edm/ssdl">

just point on your edmx file and left click -> edit xml.
Thats all.
My many thanks for last source where I found it again…

Hi.

Have you already tried to create a tv viewer from your tv card in WPF?
First thing I thought is “it isn’t gonna be so hard… I just have to put a control in there and it is done”.
So I put hand on the job… MediaElement control to see some movies.. ok. now, how do I set the source to my tv card?.. hmm hmm.. nothing? what the hell…

Maybe I was too optimistic!
I took a peek on some paying controls but all seemed not to be on my side. Until I got something with WPF vlc control… it is a port of the well known VLC as a .Net control.
Take a look in here: http://vlcdotnet.codeplex.com/

The major difficult is how to code the channel sources. Try on your VLC player on how to define it…

The portugal encode is something like:

var rtp1 = new PlainPathMedia(@"dvb-t://frequency=754000000 :bandwidth=0");
rtp1.Options.Add(@"live-caching=300");
rtp1.Options.Add(@"program=1101");

The PlainPathMedia is a class I created to represent my media for vlc.

    public class PlainPathMedia : INotifyPropertyChanged
    {
        #region INotifyPropertyChanged Members

        public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
        protected void OnPropertyChanged(string propertyName)
        {
            if (this.PropertyChanged != null)
            {
                this.PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
            }
        }

        #endregion

        private string _path;
        public string Path
        {
            get { return _path; }
            set
            {
                if (_path != value)
                {
                    _path = value;
                    OnPropertyChanged("Path");
                }
            }
        }

        private ObservableCollection<string> _options;
        public ObservableCollection<string> Options
        {
            get { return _options; }
            set
            {
                if (_options != value)
                {
                    _options = value;
                    OnPropertyChanged("Options");
                }
            }
        }

        public PlainPathMedia()
        {
            Options = new ObservableCollection<string>();
        }

        public PlainPathMedia(string path)
            : this()
        {
            _path = path;
        }
    }

There seems to be lot of ways on how to load an image and do upload.

On one of my first attempts to do it I thought I have done it ok. It seemed so as when I test it on my machine and upload to server it was OK.
However recently when trying my app I noticed that there was an error when I try to load image from app on a remote server.

So I put my hands on issue and done some tests.

I ended up with 2 ways on how to load an image to an image content on Silverlight.

On first one I load a BitmapImage; on other one i load a byte[].

There seems to be some buzzy about loading byte[] from stream. I get my byte[] from OpenFileDialog but process should be similar.

        public Byte[] fdToByteArray(OpenFileDialog odf)
        {
            Stream stream = odf.File.OpenRead();

            BinaryReader binaryReader = new BinaryReader(stream);

            byte[] currentImageInBytes = binaryReader.ReadBytes((int)stream.Length);
            stream.Position = 0;
            return currentImageInBytes;
        }

If someone on intent of testing code I have code here:imageTest
A link to demo.
Enjoy.
